"The Shoebox Project is an ongoing series of paintings based on photographs belonging to different surfers (stored in an old shoebox, perhaps?), which capture something special about surfing for each of them.
It takes some powerful forces of nature to pile up this much driftwood on a beach. All that wood comes washing down the rivers when they flood their banks during heavy storms, and it usually translates into some pretty heavy beachbreak barrels during the days that follow."
